Shop by asking
Connect Tote to ChatGPT or Claude and your cart becomes something you can talk to. “Add these boots to my Seattle trip cart.” “What’s in my cart across all the shops?” “Move the jacket to saved.”
Connect it
Tote is an MCP server, so anything that speaks the Model Context Protocol can use it. Both of these want the same address:
https://trytote.shop/api/mcp- ChatGPT
- Settings → Connectors → add the address above. ChatGPT will send you here to sign in and approve it.
- Claude
- Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, same address. From Claude Code, it is one line:
claude mcp add --transport http tote https://trytote.shop/api/mcp
What it can do
Put things in your cart
Paste a link and let it read the page, or describe something you already know the details of. It picks the right cart, or makes a new one.
Read your cart back
What's in it, what it costs, which shops it spans, what you saved for later, and what you've already bought.
Tidy it up
Move something to a different cart, change a size or quantity, save it for later, take it out, or mark it bought.
Share it
Turn a cart into a link other people can join, and see who is already in it.
What it can’t do
- It cannot spend money. Tote has no checkout. Buying happens on the retailer’s own site, by you.
- It cannot read your other accounts. The connection reaches your Tote cart and nothing else.
- It stops when you say so. Disconnect from your account and the next request fails immediately — the token is checked every time, not cached until it expires.
You’ll need a Tote account
It’s free, and the cart works on the web, on your phone, and in Chrome as well.
