Your privacy choices

Tote doesn’t sell your personal information, and never has. Two things we do could still count as “sharing” under California law, so we treat them that way and let you switch both off:

  • Product analytics. We send events like “added a product” to PostHog, tagged with a random Tote ID — never your email, name or cart contents.
  • Affiliate links. Some “Buy” links go through an affiliate network so the store can pay us a commission. When your browser passes through the network, the network can see your IP address and set its own cookie.

Opt out on this browser

Works whether or not you’re signed in. If you are, we also apply it to your account the next time you use Tote here.

Opt out everywhere

Signed in? Turn off Product analytics and Affiliate links in your account. The choice follows you to the app, the extension and any assistant you connect.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser or an extension sends Global Privacy Control, we treat it as an opt-out from both, automatically. When you’re signed in we save it to your account too, so it also covers things that happen when you’re not in the browser, like a price alert.

What an opt-out doesn’t change

The product works the same. “Buy” still takes you to the store; the link just isn’t an affiliate link. We still keep a count that something happened — for example that a product was added — with nothing linking it to you. More detail is in the privacy policy.
