The best white sneakers, from Converse to Common Projects

Updated · 6 picks · Not tested by Tote — how we picked

White sneakers are a repeat purchase more than a discovery: most people find a pair that works and replace it when it wears out. These six are long-running models at different prices, with the sizing quirks and return terms you'd want to know before the first pair.

Tote may earn a commission from some links. The store links on this page go straight to the retailer, and nothing here was picked, ranked or left out because of a commission.

How we picked

We have not tested these sneakers. We haven't worn them, walked in them or cleaned them. Each pick is a long-running model whose materials, sizes and return terms are published by the brand or a major retailer, and which is recommended by at least one established style outlet. Several of the best-known review sites weren't readable to us, so they aren't cited; we only cite what we read. Summaries are in our own words.

Where a model comes in several versions — leather or canvas, standard or wide — we name the one we're describing, with its style code when we could confirm it, because that code is what you'll search for next time.

What every pick had to show

  • Upper and sole materials published by the brand or a major retailer.
  • Size range, and whether half sizes and wide widths exist.
  • A published return or exchange policy.
  • A model that has stayed in the line for years, so you can buy the same pair again.
  • Sold by the brand and at least one other store.
  • Recommended by at least one established outlet, linked below.

Our picks

Budget, canvas, with a wide fit

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Canvas Low Top, Optical White

A canvas upper on a rubber sole, in a shape Converse has sold for over a century, and one of the few classics here that comes in a wide fit (the Wide-Fit version lists a canvas upper, cotton lining and OrthoLite cushioning). GQ Middle East's 2026 ranking calls it the cheap, breathable classic. The Chuck 70 is the sturdier, pricier version in organic canvas; Nike, which owns Converse, notes reviewers find it runs half to a full size large.

Good for:
Tight budgets, people who prefer canvas to leather, and wide feet.
Skip it if:
Anyone who needs arch support or much cushioning, or wants leather that wipes clean. Canvas is not automatically vegan — check the specific version if that matters.
Sold at:
Converse, Nike, Zappos
Price:
about $60 at Zappos (Wide-Fit version), checked September 19, 2026. Prices change; check before you buy.

The classic tennis shoe

adidas Stan Smith (leather, white/green)

A full-grain leather upper on an EVA midsole and rubber outsole, sized 4 to 16 with half sizes. It has been sold under the Stan Smith name since 1978, after launching in 1965 as the Robert Haillet. Vogue Scandinavia's 2026 guide lists it among the white leather sneakers worth buying. Adidas sells several Stan Smith versions, including non-leather ones, so check the exact style before buying.

Good for:
People who want a slim, low-profile classic with half sizes and wide availability.
Skip it if:
Very wide feet — we didn't find a wide option — or anyone who wants leather-free without confirming the specific version.
Sold at:
adidas, Foot Locker, Zappos
Price:
about $100 at Foot Locker, checked September 19, 2026. Prices change; check before you buy.

Chunkier and easy to find

Nike Air Force 1 '07, White/White (CW2288-111)

A leather upper with a perforated toe on a thick rubber cupsole with Nike Air cushioning, in production since 1982. The all-white colorway has one style code, CW2288-111, which makes the same pair easy to search for again. Nike's own page says it fits large and recommends a half size down, and Nike gives members free returns for 60 days. GQ Middle East ranks it as a four-decade classic with a heavier look than the slim tennis shoes.

Good for:
People who want a sturdier, chunkier white sneaker that many stores carry.
Skip it if:
A slim or dressy look, or wide widths. Order a half size down.
Sold at:
Nike, Foot Locker, Walmart
Price:
about $115 at Nike, checked September 19, 2026. Prices change; check before you buy.

Sourcing you can read about

Veja V-12 Leather, White

A leather upper with a recycled-polyester lining and organic cotton laces, on a sole whose rubber content Veja itemizes, including Amazonian rubber. It's made in Brazil, sized in EU numbers from about women's 4 to men's 13, and Veja gives 28 days to return. Esquire's 2026 white sneaker list picks the V-12 for its soft leather and material sourcing. Veja suggests taking the larger size if you're between two.

Good for:
People who care where the materials come from and want a mid-weight leather court shoe.
Skip it if:
Leather-free shoppers (this one is leather) or wide feet.
Sold at:
Veja, Nordstrom, Zappos
Price:
about $136 at Veja (on sale from $170), checked September 19, 2026. Prices change; check before you buy.

Italian leather, with a true wide fit

Koio Capri, Triple White

Italian calf leather upper and lining on a stitched rubber sole, with a removable OrthoLite insole, made in Florence. It comes in US 7 to 16 in whole sizes, and in a separate Wide Fit (E width) with more room in the toe box. Esquire's 2026 list likes its low profile and soft leather, and InsideHook's style editors picked it for its full-grain leather. Returns are the strictest here: 14 days, unworn, with a fee.

Good for:
People who want Italian-made leather sneakers below the luxury tier, including slightly wide feet.
Skip it if:
Half sizes (Koio says size down) or anyone who wants an easy, free return.
Sold at:
Koio, Nordstrom
Price:
about $265 at Koio, checked September 19, 2026. Prices change; check before you buy.

The minimalist luxury benchmark

Common Projects Original Achilles Low, White (1528 0506)

Leather upper and lining on a rubber sole, made in Italy, in a deliberately plain low-top shape. InsideHook's editors list it for top-grade leather, and Esquire calls Common Projects the pinnacle of white sneakers (its 2026 list names a different Common Projects model). It comes in whole sizes only, and Nordstrom reviewers say it runs large.

Good for:
People who want the minimal, Italian-made version and are paying for materials and shape.
Skip it if:
Tight budgets, half sizes, or wide feet.
Sold at:
Nordstrom, SVD
Price:
about $565 at Nordstrom, checked September 19, 2026. Prices change; check before you buy.

Before you buy white sneakers

  • Sizing varies a lot between these. Nike says the Air Force 1 fits large, Koio and Common Projects come in whole sizes only, and Veja suggests going up if you're between sizes.
  • Return windows range from 14 days with a fee (Koio) to 60 days (Zappos; Nike for members). Check before you order a size you're unsure of.
  • Wide feet: Converse sells a wide-fit Chuck Taylor and Koio a wide (E) Capri. We didn't find wide versions of the others.
  • Leather wipes clean; canvas is lighter and cheaper but stains more easily. Veja recommends a damp cloth rather than the washing machine for its leather pairs.
  • Write down the style code on the box (for example CW2288-111 for the white Air Force 1). It's the fastest way to find the same pair again.

Common questions

Did Tote try these on?
No. The picks rest on the brands' and retailers' published materials, sizes and return terms, and on style outlets' recommendations, all linked here.
Why does a pick link to a retailer instead of the brand?
Where we couldn't open the brand's own page to confirm the product and its details, we link to a major retailer page we could read instead.
Does Tote earn money from these links?
Not from the links on this page — they go straight to the store. If you save a pair to Tote and buy through Tote's own buy button, Tote may earn a commission from some stores. That played no part in the picks.
