One cart for everything you want to buy

Most shopping happens across a dozen sites and none of them talk to each other. Tote is one cart that sits above all of them: add anything from anywhere, keep it in one place, and go back to the shop when you actually want to buy.

Why a cart per shop stops working

A retailer's cart is designed to be emptied today. It expires, it forgets, and it only knows about its own shop. So the thing you were considering in March is gone by April, and the four options you were weighing up live in four different tabs that you eventually close.

The intent is real and the storage is not. Tote is the storage: a cart that outlives the session and does not care which shop something came from.

Add from wherever you found it

  • Paste a link — Tote reads the page and pulls the title, price, image and retailer.
  • Browse with the Chrome extension and save the product you are looking at, without leaving it.
  • Ask ChatGPT or Claude, if you have connected Tote to them.
  • Add it by hand when a shop has no product page worth reading.

Keep separate things separate

One list is fine until it isn't. Tote lets you keep as many carts as you need — a trip, a room, a gift list, a slow-burning want — so that the running total of your kitchen renovation is not tangled up with a pair of shoes.

Anything you are not ready to decide on can be saved for later instead, which keeps it without keeping it in front of you.

Share a cart with the people it concerns

A cart can be shared with a link. Whoever joins can see it, and can add to it if you let them. It is the same cart for everyone in it, so there is no version to reconcile afterwards.

Buying still happens at the shop

Tote has no checkout and never takes payment. When you are ready, it sends you to the retailer's own product page and you buy there, with their prices, their returns and their customer service. Mark it purchased afterwards and it moves out of the cart into your history.

Common questions

Does Tote work with every shop?
Anything with a web page can go in. Tote reads most product pages well enough to fill in the title, price and image on its own; where a page is unusual you can correct the details or add the item by hand. Nothing is limited to a list of supported retailers.
Does Tote buy things for me?
No. There is no checkout, and Tote never handles payment. It keeps track of what you want and sends you to the retailer to buy it.
What happens to a product when its price changes?
The price you saved stays visible so you can see it move. Continuous price tracking and drop alerts are part of Tote+, and they work at stores whose pages show Tote a price — not every store does.
