The total is the whole point

Individually every item seems reasonable. The question that actually matters — what does all of this come to — is the one no shop can answer, because each of them only knows its own share.

One cart across every shop gives you that number while you can still do something about it.

A cart per room, if it helps

Some people keep one cart for the whole place; some split it by room so the kitchen can be finished without the bedroom being decided. Either works — what matters is that a cart maps to something you are trying to finish.

Decide together, not in a chat

Share the cart with whoever you are moving in with. Three sofas next to each other with their prices is a conversation you can actually have; three links sent on a Tuesday is not.

Bought things get out of the way

Mark things purchased as they arrive and the cart shrinks to what is left, which over a few months is the difference between a list you use and a list you avoid.
